The video below is of a typical imported copper sink. Note how flexible the bottom of the sink is. They use the same gauge copper as we do. The difference is that we  use cold rolled copper which is many times harder. In fact, I can stand in one of our sinks without damaging it at all.
 

In this video, I am standing inside a sink that we shipped to a customer. I am supported only by the 1 inch flanges on the right and left side of the sink. At the time I weighed 240 pounds. There is no comparison between our sinks and virtually all others on the market.
