"Our company culture is built on the belief that everything we do today is merely a foundation for something even better tomorrow." Dino Rachiele
From Passionate Home Chef to Professional Kitchen Designer to Custom Sink Pioneer: The Story of Dino Rachiele
It all began with a simple but powerful idea from Dino Rachiele: transform the heart of the home—the kitchen—into a space that functions as beautifully as it feels.
After more than two decades as a kitchen designer, Dino had seen firsthand how conventional sinks failed the modern cook. They were adequate—but far from inspiring. They didn’t make life easier. They didn’t anticipate real needs.
Driven by a deep love of cooking, the warmth of his Italian-American upbringing, and an expert eye for design, Dino set out to change that. What started as a personal mission quickly evolved into a movement—one that redefined what a sink could be.
At the core of it all was something deeper than design. It was the memory of growing up in a home where cooking began in the morning, and the meal didn’t truly end until late into the night. Where hours were spent around the table—not just eating—but telling stories, laughing, passing plates, and passing down values.
That feeling—the richness of connection, the unhurried joy of shared meals, the kitchen as a living, breathing part of the family—is what continues to drive every sink we create. We’re not just building sinks. We’re building tools for a life well-lived, for kitchens that serve not just meals, but memories.
In 1999, in the small town of Apopka, Florida, Rachiele Custom Sinks was born.
From the beginning, Dino insisted on using only the finest American-made materials—316L surgical-grade stainless steel, pure copper, brass, and bronze. Not just for their beauty and strength, but for their ability to stand the test of time in the real world of daily life. This was never just about building sinks. It was about crafting enduring tools for living—pieces that could quietly support the rhythm of a family meal, day after day, year after year. Because when something is made with intention, when it’s built by hand, and built to last—it becomes more than a fixture. It becomes part of the story.
The impact was immediate. Homeowners who chose a Rachiele sink weren’t just satisfied; they were thrilled. Our success isn’t measured in sales. It’s measured in thank-you notes. Our sinks didn’t just fill a space in the kitchen; they transformed it. Our secret ingredient is empathy, not just engineering.
Staying out of the spotlight isn’t an oversight—it’s a philosophy.
We don’t chase trends, and we certainly don’t chase attention. Instead, we focus on what matters: heirloom-quality craftsmanship, intelligent design, and a customer experience rooted in conversation—not salesmanship.
Our sinks aren’t mass-produced. They’re thoughtfully curated—each one built by hand, from pure American metal, to suit the needs of a single person or family. You won’t find us in flashy ads or big-box catalogs. We don’t need to be everywhere. We only need to be exactly right for those who find us.
Welcome. We’re glad you’re here.
You can expect an educational and collaborative conversation, focused entirely on finding the right solution for your needs—never a sales presentation. We ask questions no one else does—because we care how you cook, not just what fits. We obsess over sinks because we care deeply about the people using them.
At Rachiele, craftsmanship isn’t just a word—it’s a way of life. Every sink we create is a testament to skill, precision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Unlike mass-produced alternatives, our sinks are meticulously handcrafted by artisans who have spent years honing their craft. Each detail, from seamless welds to carefully curated patinas, reflects the dedication of a master at work. As a mark of authenticity, you’ll find the signature of each artisan who played a role in creating your sink—a lasting symbol of quality and pride. You will also see a thank-you note and Dino's signature on the bottom of every sink.
Jon, our foreman, is the guiding force behind our workshop, ensuring that every Rachiele Custom Sink upholds the uncompromising standards that define our brand. His meticulous CAD designs, expert fabrication work, precision finishing, and keen attention to detail make him an indispensable part of our team.
With a sharp eye for perfection and a relentless commitment to quality, Jon oversees every stage of the sink-making process, from blueprint to final inspection. No weld goes unchecked, no finish is overlooked, and no sink leaves our shop unless it meets his exacting standards. His expertise ensures that each handcrafted custom sink—whether stainless steel, copper, brass, or bronze—is not just built to last but designed to perform flawlessly for a lifetime.
Jon doesn’t just maintain our standards; he raises them. If a sink doesn’t pass his rigorous inspection, it doesn’t leave our shop—because at Rachiele Custom Sinks, quality isn’t just a promise; it’s the foundation of our reputation.
Jon's hobby is working on cars and trucks. He can rebuild or fix just about anything.
Every sink we build is a blend of artistry and craftsmanship, and Andres is the expert behind our signature patinas. His creative touch transforms raw metal into a living, breathing work of art, ensuring that each patina is as unique as its owner, with rich depth, character, and timeless beauty.
Beyond his patina work, Andres is also a skilled welder. We’re grateful to have Andres on our team—his diverse skill set is invaluable, playing a pivotal role in shaping the extraordinary quality that defines every Rachiele sink.
Andres's hobby is playing guitar. He is quite a musician as well as an artist. His artistry shows in everything he does.
Danny is a highly skilled welder, meticulous finisher, and expert problem solver whose precision and craftsmanship elevate every sink we create. His unwavering attention to detail ensures that each weld is seamless, each joint flawless, and every piece meets our uncompromising standards for quality and durability. He brings creative solutions to complex design challenges, turning raw materials into functional works of art. His ability to refine and perfect every aspect of the finishing process ensures that every Rachiele sink is not only structurally superior but also visually stunning. We are proud to have him as a vital part of our team.
Danny, when asked what his hobby is, shrugged his shoulders and thought for a minute and said, "I guess welding." He truly loves the art of welding, and it shows.
Miles is an essential part of our team, bringing precision, dedication, and craftsmanship to every aspect of his work. As a master finisher, he ensures that each Rachiele Custom Sink meets our exacting standards, enhancing both its durability and visual appeal. His keen attention to detail is evident in every surface he perfects, ensuring that our sinks are nothing short of exceptional.
But Miles’ expertise doesn’t stop at finishing—he also takes great care in constructing custom crates to protect our sinks during shipping. He goes above and beyond, routing all edges, countersinking screws, and sanding each crate to perfection, eliminating any chance of splinters while handling. His commitment to excellence ensures that every sink arrives in pristine condition, reflecting the same level of craftsmanship in its packaging as in its design.
Miles’ work is a testament to the Rachiele standard—where perfection is found in every detail, from the finishing touches on a sink to the craftsmanship of the crate that carries it.
Miles loves to surf when he can. That is his favorite pastime.
In the year 2000, Dino had the honor of being inducted into two prestigious guilds: the Guild of Accredited Cabinetry and Space Planners, and the Guild of Professional Kitchen and Bath Planners. His expertise and insight were also recognized in a significant publication, as he served as a named consultant for the Ortho book "How to Plan Perfect Kitchens," authored by Kathleen M. Kiely and published on January 1, 1994. Later, in the July 16th, 2014 issue of Forbes Magazine, an article spotlighted Dino’s latest patented creation, the Evolution dual-tier workstation sink, lauding it as one of the most functional sinks on the market at that time.
Between 1995 and 1999, Dino had the privilege of serving as a keynote speaker for numerous companies within the kitchen industry. His role involved delivering lectures on advanced kitchen design techniques to seasoned industry professionals, further cementing his reputation as a thought leader in the field.
At Rachiele Custom Sinks, we believe in putting our resources where they matter most—into making a difference. Rather than spending heavily on advertising, we focus on giving back to those in need. Witnessing the positive impact our work can have is what makes this journey truly meaningful for us.
Since founding this company in 1999, we’ve proudly shared our net profits with veterans — a small way to honor those who have given so much. I have immense gratitude for the men and women in uniform who spend long stretches away from their families to protect our freedoms.
One story in particular has stayed with me. A young woman’s husband was deployed in Afghanistan when a flood devastated their home. On top of the emotional toll, she found herself in a difficult battle with her insurance company. Wanting to offer some comfort and relief, we gifted her a custom sink — a small gesture to remind her that she wasn’t alone, and that her family’s sacrifice had not gone unnoticed.
For Over a Decade, We’ve Shared Our Success with First Responders
We’ve been splitting our net profit with police officers and firefighters for well over 12 years. It’s our way of saying thank you—not just with words, but with action.
We are deeply grateful to live in a country that champions freedom, celebrates diversity, and rewards hard work. None of that would be possible without the dedication and courage of our first responders.
We recognize the daily risks our police officers and firefighters take to protect our communities. Their unwavering service doesn’t go unnoticed. From all of us here, thank you—for your bravery, your sacrifice, and your commitment to keeping us safe.
Community Commitment begins at home
Giving back has always been a personal priority. In 2003, I began volunteering at Loaves and Fishes, a local nonprofit that supports families across nine Central Florida zip codes. For nearly seven years, I dedicated every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., helping serve those in need.
Loaves and Fishes operates with just four paid employees and over 80 dedicated volunteers. Since 2010, I’ve continued to serve in an unpaid capacity—first as treasurer, then vice president, and now proudly as both president and treasurer. Every member of our board volunteers their time. It’s an honor to be part of an organization that quietly makes a meaningful difference in so many lives. Take a look at the video below that local channel 6 news did recently.
In the heart of Apopka, Loaves and Fishes stands as a testament to the power of community and compassion. Founded in 1984, the organization has been a lifeline for those in need, providing essential support and fostering a sense of belonging for over 41 years.
